Creative tension. This dramatic­­ sail-shaped sculpture frames a thin oval void. The curvaceous, organic shape gently swells and arcs, which connects interior, exterior and the infinity of space. Here, the empty space becomes its own form, which serves to make the invisible visible. It also makes negative space of equal importance to the larger carved mass. For many 20th century modern artists, a void of negative space expressed everything that matter cannot. White polymerized plaster. Black marble base.
